The Democratic Party held day one of their convention today in Denver, with the highlights being Ted Kennedy's surprise appearance and Michelle Obama's speach. Ted Kennedy spoke energetically, and a tribute was paid to Ted prior to his appearance. Michelle Obama's speach was followed by a brief unscripted comments by her daughters and Barack via video feed from Kansas City. Day one had little about McCain, and focused on the positive.
Several states polls came out resulting in some changes. New Mexico is rated as a tossup, and Colorado goes back in the blue column. North Carolina, Ohio, Virginia, New Mexico are within 2 points or less based on the latest polls.
Only change in Senate polls is North Carolina is now rated a tossup.
